 Broadway at the Beach

Maybe you’re wondering what to do one night when you’ve putt-putted out and the kids are bored.

Maybe you don’t have kids and want something to do as a couple besides hitting a nightclub.  Either way, Broadway at the Beach is a good choice!

Most of our Myrtle Beach condo rentals are very convenient to Broadway, which is on 21st Ave North, between the Bypass and Business Hwy 17.  The shopping and dining complex brags of being 350 acres wide, and is surrounded by water.  It’s actually two long sections side by side, with the water in the middle, and bridges going from one side to the other.  At any given time there are about 19 restaurants – from year to year a few come and go.  Add to that over 100 unusual boutique type shops, some of the rides from our sorely missed Pavilion, a pontoon boat that will take you from one end to the other and back, and several odd water rides for the kids. There’s more, too, and something to entertain everyone.

Broadway contains several of the best restaurants in Myrtle Beach, including Tony Roma’s Ribs, Landry’s Seafood, Liberty Steakhouse, Senor’ Frogs, and Margaritaville.  As many restaurants as there are, you may still have to wait during prime time, so be prepared to take a buzzer and shop nearby until you’re called. You’ll also find the semi-famous Hard Rock Cafe in Broadway… with its amazing pyramid design and rock & roll memorabilia inside.

You’ll find some quite unique stores.  There’s a store just for cats and cat memorabilia.  There’s a baseball hat store. You’ll find kiosks dotted around selling things like keychains and “your name on a grain of rice”.

There’s a celebrity autograph store, candy stores, and an African store. There’s a wolf store, a race car store, even a store dedicated to Blue Collar Comedy – Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, and Ron White.  There are multitude of dress shops, selling all kinds of beachwear. There’s even a Victoria’s Secret.

The end closest to Business 17 has the Pavilion rides, Margarittaville, the Imax Theatre, and a regular movie theatre.  These are great attractions for kids.  The grand Myrtle Beach Aquarium is there too, and is one thing nobody should miss!

Many nights will find a great fireworks show on the water, beginning around 9:45 with plenty of room to get the best view.  You’ll also find some unusual simulater rides and “bungie-type” rides scattered around.

So you see why Broadway at the Beach attracts everyone?  Even if all you want to do is have a good meal and people-watch, you can’t find a better place to do it.

Most of our resort rentals in Myrtle Beach have a huge wall of brochures about local attractions in the lobby, and you’ll find one at our office as well.   Be sure and pick up a pile of them so you can plan your evenings and have a great vacation!

Sun Fun Festival Time Again!

Market Common in Myrtle Beach

Sun Fun Festival to be held at the Market Common

Myrtle Beach vacationers will once again enjoy the annual Myrtle Beach Sun Fun Festival this year, happening on June 4 and being hosted at the Grand Park in Market Common.

This will be the year for festivals of all kinds on the Grand Strand. Trying to make up for some of the lost biker revenue, the city fathers are creating them all summer long.

The new Myrtle Beach Boardwalk will help to increase Myrtle Beach condo rentals along its course, particularly bringing some holiday seekers to the new Bay View Resort, and the Sandy Beach Resort.  Both of these are excellent condo-hotels that we recommend visiting, although all of the CondoLux condos are the best in Myrtle Beach.  Other attractions close to the new Boardwalk include Family Kingdom Amusement Park, and the old “Pavilion” strip, which still offers blocks of beachwear stores, Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, and several other attractions for teenagers and Young-At-Hearters.  Even though the Pavilion itself is no longer there, the gathering places still are, and will bring back memories of your younger years as you stroll down it on a hot summer night!

Whatever your vacation needs are this year, give us a call and let us help you decide where to stay.  From the luxurius Anderson Ocean Club to the kid-friendly Atlantica Resort, there’s a vacation to remember for everyone in Myrtle Beach this summer!

Here are the activities for June 4th and 5th at the Sun Fun Festival:

Friday, June 4… H2X Racing’s APBA National Jet Ski Championships, beachfront between Damon’s Grill (2985 S. Ocean Blvd.) and Springmaid Beach Resort (3200 S. Ocean Blvd.).  Competition free to spectators.

Saturday, June 5… Bring family and friends, chairs and blankets (no coolers allowed) and enjoy national recording artist Uncle Kracker.

Saturday, June 5… Celebrity meet-and greets with Sterling Knight, “Chad” on Disney’s Sonny with a Chance, Kim Zimmer, “Reva” on CBS’ Guiding Light, and Booboo Stewart of the Twilight Saga.

Saturday, June 5… The kids will get a kick out of the Kids Zone Games featuring inflatable rides and activities.

Saturday, June 5… Enjoy the Fireworks Extravaganza at Grand Park.  Bring the family for this fabulous pyrotechnic show.

And much more!  Visit www.sunfunfestival.com  for more activities and events.
