Whether it is parasailing, jet-skiing, boat rental, deep-sea fishing charters, sight-seeing cruises, banana boat rides, scuba diving or kayaking – if it is on or in the water, you can find it on the Grand Strand. But, what about just boating? Check out some of these popular places to “get on deck”, literally.

Hurricane Fleet Marina

Tuna FishingA family-owned boating and fishing enterprise, located on the north end of the Grand Strand in Calabash. Fishing is excellent right now and fishermen and women are catching their limit.

This is also where you will find Carolina’s ORIGINAL and BEST two hour Dolphin Adventure Cruise – fun for the ENTIRE family! It’s all aboard the 90′ Hurricane II where a working shrimp boat will be engaged. Crew will explain shrimping along the Carolinas. Watch dolphins and sharks feed off the bycatches as the nets are pulled just a few feet from the bow of the Hurricane II! See a live catch of shrimp, fish, crabs, sand dollars, starfish and more. All Hurricane Fleet vessels are certified by the U.S. Coast Guard and equipped with modern amenities for safety and comfort.Reservations are not required but recommended. Tickets may be purchased on-site at the Ticket Office, or by phone. Cruises depart Monday through Friday 2 and 4:30PM, be aware schedule may vary due to weather or in the off-season. There are six boats in the Hurricane Fleet – something for everyone! All boats are equipped for wheel-chaired persons and those physically challenged.Novice and experienced fishermen may charter a boat for deep sea fishing in the Gulf Stream or fish a half-day above the reefs and wrecks 15 miles offshore. Bait, tackle, rod and reel are provided on all fishing trips. Half day private charters too.

Barefoot Princess Riverboat

Planation River and Cruises and Airboat Tours

Airboat Tour at Plantation River ToursTake a scenic boat tour along historic plantations of South Carolina where you will see rice plantations, trunk gates, slave cabins, moss-laden oak trees, alligators, eagles, osprey and transit yachts on the Intracoastal Waterway. Your narrator, a local historian, will educate you on the history, mystery and legends of the Rice Plantations.

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind air boat tour aboard the newest member of the fleet, the Waccamaw Cooter. Travel along the Waccamaw, Black and Pee Dee Rivers where an ordinary boat can’t take you. Pristine surroundings with up close encounters of alligators to regal ospreys. Meander through back waters framed by moss-laden oak and cypress trees for an experience no other tour can provide! Tour is approximately one hour.
